South Ossetia has always linked its future with Russia, President of the Republic, Alan Gagloev, said during the press conference.
"The issue of the future of South Ossetia has always been and remains in the spotlight. We all remember how in the 90s people of South Ossetia clearly expressed their will in the referendum on joining Russia; this event became the important stage in our history and showed that the opinion of people is important to take into account in political actions. However, it is important to remember that the referendum issues do not depend only on us. Geopolitics and international relations play a significant role in these processes," the President said.
Gagloev has noted that some political forces are trying to use the referendum issue in their own interests, but in South Ossetia there is not a single person who would be against a future as part of Russia.
"When the time comes, people of Ossetia will have their say again," Gagloev has concluded.
