Russian Ambassador to South Ossetia Marat Kulakhmetov presented the veterans – home front workers with the jubilee medal "80 Years of Victory in the 1941-1945 Great Patriotic War ", the press service of the diplomatic department reports.
"On Saturday, Marat Kulakhmetov visited Zamira Efimovna Tigieva, Fyodor Sakoevich Valiev and Zaur Efimovich Dzhidzhoev - veterans of the Great Patriotic War – home front workers, and presented them with the jubilee medal "80 Years of Victory in the 1941-1945 Great Patriotic War ". The award was established by the decree of President of the Russian Federation dated September 2, 2024," the press service has noted.
It was noted that awarding veterans is an important and pleasant mission of the Embassy, which has become a good tradition in the run-up to the celebration of the anniversary dates of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War.
"Unfortunately, over the past 5 years, many worthy representatives of the Republic have passed away. These days, we are remembering them with warmth and thank them for their personal contribution to winning our common Great Victory," the press service has noted.
