The incumbent President of South Ossetia, Anatoly Bibilov, has scheduled a referendum on the unification of the Republic and Russia for July 17, 2022. The corresponding decree was published on Friday on the website of the head of South Ossetia.

The CEC of South Ossetia unanimously supported the initiative to join South Ossetia to Russia, the incumbent president of the Republic of South Ossetia Anatoly Bibilov wrote on his telegram channel.
