On September 22 resident of village Pris Artem Besaev, born in 1986, was abducted by armed people in masks, while he was looking for his cattle. According to Besaev, he was strongly hit into his head and lost consciousness. He recovered in a destroyed house in the outskirts of a Georgian village Kheiti. In the same house he was beaten up and tortured. The abductors were speaking with each other in Georgian, were armed and dressed as officers of special forces. Besaev again lost consciousness and recovered only next morning. In the morning he managed to escape from the house. Besaev was put with concussion of brain and many injuries into the Tskhinval city hospital.
Residents of village Pris are extremely exasperated by the activities of the Georgian forces that continue to terrorize the peaceful population.
In June 2006 residents of village Pris picketed Tskhinval office of the OSCE Mission, protesting against the tyranny of the Georgian police and demanded to remove the illegal check point in the outskirts of the village.
