Official Tbilisi continues provocations against our Republic. Georgian authorities, in contrast with the opinion of the International Community to resolve the Georgian – Ossetian conflict by peaceful means, continue to destabilize the situation in South Ossetia by means of extremist attacks as well as by direct threats for the safety of our Republic. Our citizens are exposed to violence, peacekeepers are often under fire. Not limited by the mentioned activities, Georgian military and special services have recently activated their intelligence and subversive activities against strategic objects on the territory of South Ossetia
We have irrefutable proof. Thus in the month of July 2006 in village Java was detained a Georgian spy while taking photos, he confirmed that was following instructions of Georgian special forces. Today during monitoring activities in village Kvaisa located on the territory of the RSO during cross fire was annihilated a subversive group of four people that penetrated from the Georgian side. They had automatic guns, a lot of ammunition, powerful explosives.
During preliminary inspection of the material evidences was found uniform of Russian peacekeepers, maps of the region, location schemes of strategic objects of the Republic. The equipment and the documents prove that we have managed to prevent a range of large-scale subversive-terrorist acts and provocations against peacekeeping forces, prepared by the Georgian special forces using Chechen militants and foreign hirelings cherished on their territory. A criminal case is being instigated. The bandits are being identified.
