In Vladikavkaz at the meeting of territorial organizations of the Russian Union of Youth in South Russia was made an appeal to the International Community, EU, OSCE and the Government of Georgia on the occasion of the referendum on the independence of the Republic of South Ossetia. The young leaders of the North Caucasian subjects of the RF urge to “stop dividing the world depending interests”, “ to bar from new bloodshed”, “refrain from extremism” and “accept the will of the people of South Ossetia”. Besides the representatives of territorial organizations in the meeting participated first Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania Oleg Khatsaev, Minister of Youth and Sport of the Republic of North Ossetia – Alania Rustem Kelekhsaev, Chairman of the Russian Union of Youth and a member of the RF Public Chamber Oleg Rozhnov.
The signatories of the appeal declared that, “ youth of Russia is ready to protect with all existing methods rights and liberties of the people of South Ossetia”. In regard to this on the meeting in Vladikavkaz was made a decision to carry out mass-meetings in the South of Russia on the day before and on the day of the referendum. The main demand made by the young activists is to recognize the right of the people of South Ossetia for free declaration of will.
APPEAL
We – the young citizens of Russia, representatives of the Russian Union of Youth, declare that the referendum that is going to be carried on 12th November is the most humane form of declaration of the will of the people of South Ossetia.
We do not understand and do not accept the position of Georgian authorities, leadership of the EU and the OSCE that proclaimed the referendum to be illegitimate in advance.
We appeal to the people of good will to stand next to us and do not allow another bloodshed.
We appeal to the International Community to stop dividing the world depending on the interests and pay attention to the feelings and desires of ordinary people of South Ossetia.
We call to the common sense of the leaders of Georgia, youth of Georgia to refrain from extremism and take measures to avoid excessive acts during the referendum.
We demand from the leaders of all the countries, heads of International Organizations to accept the will of the people of South Ossetia, a Nation that twice suffered a genocide in the 20th century, a Nation that vindicated with blood its Right for life, Right for freedom, Right for free declaration of will.
We support the referendum of 12th November and declare that the Youth of Russia is ready to protect with all existing measures rights and freedoms of the people of the Republic of South Ossetia.
