Today Deputy of Russian State Duma Michael Markelov tried to visit Georgian village Tamarasheni temporarily not controlled by the authorities of South Ossetia, where according to the Georgian side today were taking place “alternative elections” of the President of South Ossetia.
Michael Markelov was not allowed into Tamarasheni. At the entrance into the village the vehicle of the deputy was stopped by the security service staff of the Georgian Ministry of Interior. At the same the representatives officially announced that on the territory of villages Tamarasheni, Achabeti, Kurta and Kekhvi “alternative elections” did not take place.
