In Tskhinval has been held a round table discussion on the topic "For Peace and Harmony in the Caucasus", timed to the fourth anniversary of theoutbreak of the Georgian aggression against South Ossetia in August 2008.
The round table was attended by delegations from the North Caucasian republics of Russia, the government and the intelligentsia of South Ossetia.

At the beginning of the discussion the visitors from the North Caucasian republics were greeted by First Deputy Head of Presidential Administration of South Ossetia Kosta Pukhaev;he has expressed his gratitude for their visit and participation in the commemorative events taking place in the Republic.
"We highly appreciate your active participation in the ongoing movement of solidarity with the multinational people of the Republic of South Ossetia who have been subjected to barbaric aggression in August 2008," - said Pooh.
He has said that people of the Republic are celebrating a memorable date in their contemporary history.
"This day should serve to all of us as a reminder of the fragility of peace that in the multiethnic and multi-religious Caucasus the attitude to peace and harmony should be careful. We, peoples of the Caucasus, should stop any attempt to break peace", - underlined Kosta Pukhaev.
He has added that today Georgia in its anti-Russian frenzy is trying to explode the situation in the North Caucasus, supporting and encouraging in every way the destructive forces in the regions of the North and Southern federal districts of Russia.
During the round table, the participants identified the lack of theclear-cut national policy in the Russian Federation.
"Since the collapse of the Soviet Union ideology in Russia was rejected, as a necessity. At present there is not any kind of the unifying purpose in Russia, in accordance to which, in my opinion, one could build the ideology,"- said the representative of the Ossetian national-cultural center "Nykhas" in Kabardino-Balkaria, Igor Tsagoev.
According to him, one could see the invaluable experience of ideological work in South Ossetia.
"National ideology in the Republic for twenty years has been successful, because for many years South Ossetia wasseized with a lofty goal - to achieve independence," - said Tsagoev.
Referring to the Republic of Kabardino-Balkaria, he noted that it is a "geo-strategically important region for the world's major gamblers."
"This is a border region, where instability is interesting to many people. They use all possible methods, including inter-ethnic issues and the religious extremism,"- said Tsagoev.
He also pointed to Georgia's desire to annoy Russia, fanning the topic of genocide of the Circassian people.
"It's clear that Georgia is not concerned about the problems of the Circassians" - said Tsagoev.
The necessity for revival the Ministry for Nationalities in Russia has been noted by Vice-Speaker of the North Ossetian parliament, Stanislav Kesaev.
"Today a new wave of nationalism has risen in the Russian Federation and this problem should be solved. In this case, everything should be considered primarily from the human position and then from the ethnic one", - said Kesaev.
The Round table participants discussed issues on the future of South Ossetia.
President of the South Ossetian Media-center "IR" Irina Gagloeva noted that the statehood of the Republic would be developing.
"Our state for many centuries will be developing, living and continue to make its due contribution to the world culture and civilization, as we have been doing it for thousands of years - said Gagloeva. - We have been recognized by sufficiently powerful states headed by the Russian Federation. And whatever is thinking anyone, we are proud that we managed to create our own state. "
According to the Head of Administration of the Government of South Ossetia Anatoly Barankevich, the people of Ossetia living in the north and south should be united.
"One nation, which has close blood ties, cannot live divided, should not be divided by state boundaries," - stressed Barankevich.
According to Associate Professor of the Moscow Academy of Law, Alexander Sergeev, South Ossetia suffered more than any other region of the former Soviet Union.
"The small nation was fighting with the five million state equipped with heavy combat equipment, and it withstood. This, in fact, has no analogy in the world "- said Sergeev.
Other opinions have also sounded at the round table. Based on the results of its work will be drafted the final document in the form of a statement.
