Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela in the Republic of South Ossetia Hugo Jose Garcia Hernandez has arrived in South Ossetia. In Tskhinval the ambassador was received by the RSO Foreign Minister David Sanakoev.
At the beginning of the meeting the Foreign Minister of the Republic greeted the guests on the soil of South Ossetia.
"We are glad to see you here and hope that in the future Venezuela and South Ossetia will develop warm and friendly relations", - said Sanakoev.
He also stressed that South Ossetia had been following attentively the processes occurring in Venezuela and in the region as a whole.
"We will be attentively watching the elections scheduled for autumn of this year. We hope that the elections will be democratic, and people will make their choice, which will promote the further development of Venezuela as one of the major countries of Latin America," – underlined the Foreign Minister.
In turn, Hugo Jose Garcia Hernandez has reminded that this was his third visit to South Ossetia;earlier he had accompanied the ex-President Eduard Kokoity during the visit to Venezuela.
"We planned our trip earlier, but for health reasons we had to postpone a trip," - said the Ambassador.
Speaking about the development of relations between the two countries, the ambassador noted that Venezuela was waiting for the completion of the presidential election, then to intensify relations with South Ossetia.
"The political processes in Venezuela have been suspended a little bit due to the illness of President Hugo Chavez. But during my last meeting with him he looked healthy. During a month he has already been taking place an active part in the election campaign, and he is full of energy ", - assured the ambassador.
He has also emphasized that the current polls testify that Chavez has a good chance for victory in the election.
