Lydia Kudzieva has been leading the South Ossetian Committee of families of the missing more than two years. She herself went through hard trials. But she held out and started to help those who had experienced the pain of losing their loved ones. Now it has become her life goal.

"When I see mothers, sisters, wives, I want to be strong and help them in solving their problems, sometimes seemingly unsolvable. We must remember the war every moment, because we have lost the best sons, defenders of our Fatherland. This is a great tragedy – to lose your loved one and know nothing about his fate, "- said Lydia.
For 22 years she has been searching for her husband Paul Kabulov, and for two years she has been dealing with the Missing, meeting with their families, collecting information about them, studying their problems.
" I am cooperating with the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) and with the Russian Peacekeeping Mission of General Lebed. This organization is helping us with the DNA analysis, I collect information in one's lifetime and take from relatives the DNA analysis, send them to the Moscow molecular laboratory. For us, there have already been done more than 70 DNA passports. I am also sending bone fragments after exhumation, "- said Lydia.
She began to work with this organization after her children had discovered the burial place and thought that there might be the remains of their father. However, the DNA analysis did not confirm this assumption. As it turned out, the remains belonged to different people, that is, at this point had been buried several people.
"But we do not lose hope and keep searching for. In cooperation with the Russian peacekeeping mission of General Lebed last year we sent for rest to Pyatigorsk two men. Recently were exhumed the remains near the village of Sver, which presumably belonged to the Russian soldier. The work is not finished, it is going ahead, and I am very grateful for support to the General Prosecutor's Office, the Interior Ministry, in particular, to the Criminal Investigation and assembly, "- she said.
The ICRC presented to the Committee furniture, office equipment and provides transportation by necessity.
" The ICRC has played a significant role in the organization of this date - the International Day of the Missing. ICRC arranged television and radio programs, flyers, and other activities. And in September will start the implementation of the program of psychological and social support for families of the missing persons,"- underlined Lydia.
She is ready to work with people who are not indifferent to the fate of families of the missing persons. The main thing for her is not so much financial support as moral. Lydia will be immensely grateful to any help and attention.
