Georgian authorities have taken a breather in the extremist and militarist rhetoric, which they are trying to replace by common theme of economic cooperation and integration.
As the news agency "Res" has been reported by a spokesman of the Association of Border Cooperation in Central Asia and the Caucasus Mikhail Chernov, commenting on the meeting of Deputy Foreign Minister of Russia Grigory Karasin with the Prime Minister of Georgia Z.I.Abashidze, "The exchange of views between Russia and Georgia – it is good. Previously, these meetings were less constructive. They were due to start and have just started".

However, according to the expert, one should not forget that Georgia's policy towards the Russian Federation and towards the independent states of South Ossetia and Abkhazia has not changed at all.
Chernov underlined that Russia was not going to withdraw from the recognition of independence of South Ossetia and Abkhazia.
"As South Ossetia and Abkhazia are the independent states, their leadership should bear the brunt of the independence. South Ossetia is the independent state, and its elite and leadership have to display fortitude and uncompromising stand in defense of their independence, "- stressed the expert.
According to him, now it all depends on the attitude of political will and endurance of their leadership.
"I hope that the current leadership of South Ossetia will also uncompromisingly follow the way of independence, like the previous one," - added Chernov.
