The signing of the historically significant document - Memorandum on cooperation between the parliaments of the Republic of South Ossetia and the Republic of Kabardino-Balkaria - has confirmed the readiness of the two republics to mutually beneficial cooperation in all fields, was said by the Speaker of Kabardino-Balkaria Anuar Chechenov at the briefing in Tskhinval. He has expressed the hope that in the near future a similar agreement will be signed between the heads of Kabardino-Balkaria and South Ossetia Arsen Kanokov and Leonid Tibilov.
"The signing of this cooperation agreement was negotiated directly with the Russian Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy to North Caucasus Federal District Alexander Khloponin. Of course, this is the first swallow, but I want to believe that such positive steps in relations between our countries will be frequent and effective, "- said Chechenov.
Speaker of the Parliament of Kabardino-Balkaria has added that the two friendly republics are actively working in the legal field.
"The legal framework of the Republic of Kabardino-Balkaria is appreciated positively, there's something to share with the legislature of South Ossetia. Today we have agreed with our South Ossetian counterparts to organize mutual consultations on exchange of experience in this field. Hopefully, this close cooperation will promote the improvement of the legal framework of our republics ", - said the Chechen.
He has also noted that the treacherous attack by Georgia on South Ossetia in August 2008 was perceived by the leadership and the people of Kabardino-Balkaria as a common pain.
"After all, we were once living in one big house - the Soviet Union, and no one could expect that Georgia was capable to attack so treacherously - said the speaker. – Republic of Kabardino-Balkaria responded immediately - in 2008, refugees from South Ossetia were the first received by us. All the structures of our Republic were involved in this process. At that time I was a head of the staff to help the citizens of South Ossetia. "
The entire community of Kabardino-Balkaria has provided all possible assistance to the refugees from South Ossetia.
"Some economic structures helped with building materials, food and goods of prime necessity. In these difficult times we were with you. But at the same time we have not completed our aid, we will continue to help your Republic, developing our friendly relations, established in the days of the Soviet Union ", - said Chechenov.
He wished the South Ossetian land peace, the people - unity, peace, harmony, and self-realization in the name of prosperity of the Republic.
