The issue of removing the illegal Georgian police post from the territory of the village of Uista in South Ossetia was raised again within the framework of the Incident Prevention and Response Mechanism (IPRM) format at the meeting in the village of Ergnet.

This was reported by Deputy Presidential Envoy of the Republic of South Ossetia for Post-Conflict Settlement, the head of the South Ossetian delegation to the IPRM, Yegor Kochiev.

“This issue is always on the agenda, we are looking for solutions. At present, the situation is still quite complicated,” Kochiev said. “The elections that took place in Georgia and the ongoing protests in the Georgian capital related to the election campaign have not yet allowed the Georgian leadership, in my opinion, to resolve this issue.”

The meetings in the IPRM format are held within the framework of the Geneva Discussions on Security in the Caucasus. Representatives of South Ossetia, Russia, Georgia, the European Union and the OSCE participate in the dialogue.
