OSCE Secretary General Lamberto Zannier on the eve of his visit to Georgia held a press conference and said: "I am very concerned about the barbed wire fencing (at the state border between the Republic of South Ossetia and Georgia - Ed.)."

He asserts that Russia is not playing a constructive role in stabilizing the situation in the region. He has also announced his intention to discuss "how to assist the residents of Abkhazia and South Ossetia" and "how can be restored the mission of the OSCE to be effectively represented on the spot."
In this regard, the head of the Presidential Executive Office of South Ossetia Boris Chochiev, the former head of the South Ossetian part of the Joint Control Commission for the settlement of the Georgian-Ossetian conflict, told the news agency "Res":
"The words of Lamberto Zannier cast doubt on their sincerity. Shedding crocodile tears over the border fence, he is silent on the reasons of its erection- namely, constant provocations since 2004, military intervention of Georgia in 2004 and a full-scale military aggression in 2008, entailed the need to protect the security of the borders of our recognized independent state" .
Over the years, in the negotiation process, watching the actions of the OSCE Mission in Georgia, we can say with full responsibility: "In fact, it unilaterally contributed not to security and co-operation in the Georgian-Ossetian conflict, but was an active supporter and patron of the criminal Saakashvili, contributing to realization of his misanthropic ideas."
"The main purpose of the OSCE mission in Georgia was aimed at to hide from the participating countries the intention of Saakashvili to unleash the war and destruction of the population of South Ossetia. And after the August war we did not hear any assessment and condemnation of the actions of Georgia by the OSCE, and this is understandable, because the OSCE itself concealed his plans and the criminal actions from the international community ", - said the head of the Presidential Executive Office.
"August 7, 2008 the staff of the OSCE Mission in Georgia, coming from Tskhinval to Tbilisi, saw the huge column of Georgian tanks, artillery, anti-aircraft missile systems" Grad "and other heavy military equipment, which moved into South Ossetia. However, instead of sounding the alarm, the OSCE Mission in Georgia was silent, "- said Chochiev.
"Fortunately, the people of South Ossetia have the defender. This is the great Russia, which has protected us and saved, and provides comprehensive support in the restoration of all that was destroyed in South Ossetia with the direct connivance of the OSCE mission. If it were not for Russia, Georgia would have been able to implement its nefarious scheme "open field" and the world would not even heard about the crimes of the Saakashvili regime ", - he said.
According to the politician, after 2008 the OSCE has compromised himself and needs a radical revision of its approach to the foundations of modern international politics and return to the system of values, respect, equality and protection of human rights, which were laid in its foundation in 1974.
"In contrast to the inhuman destructive role of the OSCE leadership, the role of Russia is highly constructive and humane. At a time when the OSCE was able to carry out its activities in South Ossetia, we lived in a gloomy economic blockade, poverty, provocations and attacks. And now, when our relations with Russia are getting closer, we live in peace, prosperity, restoring South Ossetia devastated by the Georgian army.
I would advise the OSCE leadership not to criticize the actions of Russia, but follow the example of Russia, which always helps those who need its help, those who are attacked , who threatened destruction,"- concluded Boris Chochiev.
