In South Ossetia in November will be held a meeting of the Inter-parliamentary Assembly
As reported by the Parliament of the Republic,"this year will be held a regular meeting of the Inter-parliamentary Assembly in South Ossetia. The date is still being agreed with our colleagues from Abkhazia and Transnistria, but it is tentatively planned to hold it in early November, "said Igor Kochiev, head of the parliamentary committee for foreign policy and inter-parliamentary activities.
According to the parliamentarian, delegations from the legislative bodies of Transnistria and Abkhazia will come to South Ossetia. As observers, deputies from other republics with whom South Ossetian lawmakers have friendly relations will be invited.
The Inter-parliamentary Assembly is an association of legislators of three republics - South Ossetia, Abkhazia and the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic and was formed within the Community of States "For Democracy and Peoples' Rights".
The community as a military-political union of the three states was formed on June 14, 2006. On September 30,2006 the speakers of the legislative bodies signed an agreement on the creation of the Inter-parliamentary Assembly (IPA).
