During the bilateral meeting, the parties discussed priority areas for further cooperation.
A delegation of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia arrived in South Ossetia on a working visit, the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic reports.
The delegation has included representatives of various law enforcement agencqies who met with the South Ossetian colleagues in Tskhinval. Welcoming the guests, Minister of Internal Affairs of South Ossetia, Major General of the Police Igor Naniev has noted that constructive cooperation was developing between the two departments, thanking the leadership of the Russian Interior Ministry for their assistance in solving the tasks assigned to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of South Ossetia.
“The purpose of your working visit is to provide practical assistance to our department, as well as to develop further mechanisms for the implementation of practical steps to realize the existing agreement, which is signed between our departments and states. The priority tasks for us, of course, are: fight against organized crime, protection of public order, protection of the legitimate interests of the citizens of our states,” said Minister of Internal Affairs Igor Naniev
The head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs has emphasized that a lot has already been done and cited positive indicators that are being implemented within the framework of signed agreements.
“The results of our joint work are also an increase in the monetary allowance, the material and technical component of the staff and employees of the Department of Internal Affairs. This is a great achievement for our ministries,” said Igor Naniev.
The Interior Minister has expressed confidence that all the goals and objectives set before the Ministry of Internal Affairs of South Ossetia will be fulfilled by joint efforts.
This is not the first visit of representatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia to South Ossetia. Russian law enforcement officers visited the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic in December last year.
“During this time, there have been some improvements. It is very pleasant to note that in the three years of interaction, certain results have already been achieved, ” said Colonel of the Internal Service Vadim Oberemenko, head of the delegation of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.
Interior Minister Igor Naniev presented the Russian law enforcement agencies with departmental awards and thanked them for their fruitful work.
