South Ossetia and the Russian Federation are building a strong, strategic partnership based on mutual trust, common values ​​and aspirations, South Ossetian President Alan Gagloev said at the meeting with Russian Minister of Economic Development Maxim Reshetnikov.

"Thanks to this cooperation, we are confidently moving along the path of sustainable development in all spheres of life," Gagloev said.

He emphasized the effectiveness of cooperation within the framework of the agreement on assistance in the implementation of the state program for the socio-economic development of South Ossetia for 2022-2025, signed in August 2022.

"With the department entrusted to you as athe authorized body of the Russian Federation, close and effective interaction has been built on the entire spectrum of issues related to the implementation of this agreement," Gagloev has noted. - During the today's meeting, we would like to "check our watches" on how far we have progressed in achieving the set goals, to summarize the preliminary results of the program implementation, which we managed to achieve through the joint efforts, despite the difficulties and challenges that we faced given the special military operation."

Gagloev cited impressive data on macroeconomic indicators.

"The gross domestic product increased by 29% compared to 2020 (from 6,166.61 million rubles to 7,983.19 million rubles), the volume of industrial output and services doubled, the volume of agricultural output increased by 1.5 times, the state budget's own revenues increased by 28%, and the average salary in 2024 amounted to 31,207.41 rubles (59% more than in 2020), - Gagloev said.

According to him, significant investments attracted thanks to preferential lending from Russian banks (2.8 billion rubles) made it possible to launch new production facilities, including a plant for processing fruit and vegetable products.

“In 2025, it is planned to implement four more large industrial projects: an enterprise for the extraction and processing of natural stone, a timber processing plant, expansion of basalt fiber production and brewing. This will provide additional income to the state budget and the creation of more than 600 new jobs,” the President has noted.

In addition, South Ossetia managed to successfully switch to the customs legislation of the EAEU.

At the same time, Gagloev noted the need for further work on the development of agriculture, support for small and medium-sized businesses, development of the banking sector and the tourism industry, which requires attracting additional investments and modernization of the material and technical base.

"The work is currently underway on a socio-economic development program for 2026-2030, which, according to forecasts, if successfully implemented, will increase the state budget's own revenues by 2.5 times by 2030," the President has emphasized. "I am confident that through then joint efforts we will be able to achieve the desired results."
