On December 19, Friday, the twentieth meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission (IGC) on social and economic cooperation between Russia and South Ossetia will be held in Tskhinval.
The meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission in Tskhinval will discuss issues of providing financial assistance to Russia to the Republic of South Ossetia for its socio-economic development, the government’s press service reports.
The meeting participants will discuss the implementation of the Investment Program to promote the social and economic development of the RSO for 2019, the decisions of the IPC Co-Chairs on the adjustment of investment programs, as well as the implementation of the second stage of the modernization of the education and health systems of the RSO, "the press service notes.
The meeting will be held under the leadership of the co-chairs: Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Vitaly Mutko and Prime Minister of the RSO Eric Pukhaev.
The agenda also includes the approval of the Investment Program for the Promotion of Social and Economic Development of the Republic of South Ossetia for 2020-2022. The future investment program includes activities related to the real sector of the economy, tourism, construction of engineering networks, development of communications and other socially significant facilities.
First Deputy Prime Minister Vitaly Mutko appointed responsible for "Implementing State National Policy", "For the Development of the North Caucasus Federal District", "Social and Economic Development of the Kaliningrad Region" and the state program "Foreign Policy" in terms of socio-economic cooperation with Abkhazia and South Ossetia .
