President of the Republic of South Ossetia, Anatoly Bibilov, and the head of the Lugansk People’s Republic exchanged instruments of ratification of the Treaty of Friendship, Cooperation and Mutual Assistance between South Ossetia and the LPR, signed in 2018 in Tskhinval, the press service of the head of state reports.
The exchange of instruments of ratification took place during the visit of the President of the RSO to Lugansk for events dedicated to the 5th anniversary of the proclamation of the LPR.
Bibilov and Pasechnik also signed a protocol on the exchange.
Anatoly Bibilov has noted that the exchange of instruments of ratification implies the beginning of a large agreement.
"I am sure that the continuation of this agreement will follow, we have plans for signing agreements between the ministries and departments of the republics," said President of the RSO.
He has stressed that the signing of such agreements will help developing relations in all areas of life for the benefit of the peoples of the republics.
Pasechnik said that the exchange of instruments of ratification of the treaty is a significant event for the LPR and South Ossetia.
“Together, defending our sovereignty, our place in the international arena, we are confidently moving towards world recognition. Such fruitful intergovernmental cooperation allows the republics to develop democratic institutions and economic potential, thereby raising the standard of living of citizens, which is our main goal,” said the head of the LPR.
