The delegation of the Republic of South Ossetia headed by President Anatoly Bibilov familiarized with the work of the Kashen mining and processing plant in the Artsakh Republic, the press service of the head of state reported.
The enterprise is the largest, it employs over 2 thousand people, tax deductions make up 40% of Artsakh’s own income. According to a company representative, “the proven reserves of the deposit amount to 47 million tons of ore with a copper content of 0.45% and the accompanying molybdenum content.”
“This allows to extract up to 5 million tons of ore per year. The primary processing of ore is done at the factory,”he said.
Anatoly Bibilov asked about the environmental friendliness of production. According to the specialist, the company has a full cycle of using industrial waters that are dangerous to the environment, and they do not go beyond the plant.
The Pesident was also told about the methods of exploration. Anatoly Bibilov instructed the Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Economic Development Gennady Bekoev to develop an action plan for studying the resources of South Ossetia and using the experience of the Artsakh Republic.
The delegation of South Ossetia was accompanied by Minister of Economy Levon Grigoryan. A visit to the Kashen mining and processing plant took place during the visit of the head of South Ossetia to the Artsakh Republic.
