The participants of the Alan Trail International Ethnic Camp left with the desire that they would definitely return to South Ossetia next year, said Valentina Gatikoeva, Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Youth Policy, Sports and Tourism, at a briefing.
“This camp has been organized for five years by the Ministry of National Relations of North Ossetia. As a rule, for several days, its participants come to South Ossetia. This year, the guys visited the Republic from August 7 to 9 and took part in the mourning events to get inspired by the emotions that we experience every year these days,” she said.
As noted by the Deputy Chairman of the Youth Committee, young people, ethnic Ossetians from eight countries of the world: Turkey, Tajikistan, Azerbaijan, Germany, France, Kazakhstan, Syria and the Netherlands became participants in the ethnic camp.
Gatikoeva said that two days was not enough to show all the beauty of South Ossetia, but they still managed to surprise the guests during this time by showing some of the country's cultural and historical sights and introducing the guests to the culture and traditions of the republic.
“It is impossible to show all the beauties and sights of South Ossetia in two days, but we tried, and they really liked it,” she emphasized.
According to Gatikoeva, the ethnic camp program was rich and varied, it included excursions, various master classes and so on.
Valentina Gatikoeva noted that many of the members of the ethnic camp spoke the Ossetian language, despite the fact that they do not live in Ossetia.
She has emphasized that the main purpose of the ethnic camp is to introduce Ossetians living abroad to the culture, traditions and customs of Ossetia, to the heritage of our ancestors.
