According to the press service, on October 26, a ceremony will be held to install a new plate of the representative office of the Foreign Ministry of South Ossetia in Rome. It is reported that the Foreign Ministry considers the incident a provocation.

"All over the world, such actions are strongly condemned and do not fit into the elementary norms of civilized behavior. We want to assure the vandals that the representative office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of South Ossetia in Rome is not amenable to such provocations, moreover, they contribute to the activation of the further work of the representative office in Italy," - the message says.

A representative office of South Ossetia in the Italian capital was opened in April 2016 and is located in a private house.

Italy became the first country that does not recognize the independence of South Ossetia, but gave permission to open its representative office.
