Alan Gagloev and Badra Gunba will instruct the governments of their countries to prepare the agreement on duty-free import of goods to the territory of South Ossetia and Abkhazia, said press Secretary of the President, Natalya Bosikova.
During a telephone conversation, President of South Ossetia Alan Gagloev and President of Abkhazia Badra Gunba discussed key issues of the agreement on the regime of trade in goods, which will soon be signed between the government of South Ossetia and the cabinet of ministers of Abkhazia.
"At the meeting held today, the head of state has already outlined this initiative. In the effort to develop trade and economic cooperation between South Ossetia and Abkhazia on the basis of equality and mutual assistance, as well as to facilitate the creation of a single market for goods and services, a draft agreement has already been prepared. The parties will have to study the details and sign the agreement for it to come into force and work in full," Bosikova said.
She has added that after the inauguration of President Badra Gunba, a new cabinet of ministers is being formed in the Republic of Abkhazia.
"During the conversation, Badra Gunba has outlined the importance of this agreement between the fraternal republics, which will contribute to the growth of economic activity, having noted that the Abkhaz party is ready to sign the document after it fully forms the cabinet of ministers," the press Secretary said.
