The course towards enhancing cooperation: Dmitry Medoev is on a working visit to Abkhazia

Acting. Minister of Foreign Affairs of South Ossetia Dmitry Medoev has arrived of February 14 on a working visit to Abkhazia. As the press service of the Republic's Foreign Ministry has reported on Friday, the visit is taking place in accordance with the "Plan of consultations between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia for 2021 - 2022" signed in 2020.

On February 15, Dmitry Medoev met with Minister of Foreign Affairs of Abkhazia Daur Kove.

"During the conversation, which took place in a businesslike and friendly atmosphere, a thorough exchange of views was held on the current state and prospects for the development of bilateral cooperation. The heads of the foreign affairs agencies focused on security issues and the non-renewal of military aggression against South Ossetia and Abkhazia by Georgia, which becomes especially relevant after the recent events in Nagorno-Karabakh.

The parties noted with satisfaction the closeness or coincidence of the approaches of South Ossetia and Abkhazia to the main problems of the international agenda. A mutual desire to intensify cooperation was expressed and a further schedule of upcoming political contacts between the two countries was outlined.

Daur Kove thanked Dmitry Medoev for the visit, noting the traditionally friendly ties and fraternal ties of the Abkhaz and Ossetian peoples.

Dmitry Medoev, in turn, has that the traditionally warm and friendly relations between our countries and peoples will continue to serve the common goals of maintaining peace, stability and security in the name of the well-being and prosperity of our fraternal republics,” the Foreign Ministry said.

The meeting was also attended by Ambassador of South Ossetia to Abkhazia Oleg Botsiev.
