With three pies - according to Ossetian customs, on Saturday morning, representatives of the youth organization of South Ossetia "United Alania" met the IDPs from Donbass. As noted ny Lana Plieva, an activist of the organization, to the “Res” news agency, the guys decided to give the citizens of the fraternal country "a piece of the peaceful sky" of the Republic.
“We know firsthand what war is, so we understand well the people who came to us from the Donetsk People's Republic. We know what it is like for them to be in this position, and we want them to never have to go through this difficult ordeal again,” Plieva said.
She has noted that the newly arrived internally displaced persons were presented with blue balloons, embodying a symbol of freedom and peace.
“In the future, we plan to get acquainted with representatives of the friendly country, give them small gifts, share with them a piece of our warmth and attention,” Plieva stressed.
On Saturday morning, at 7:30 a.m., a convoy of vehicles delivered the IDPs from the Donetsk People's Republic to South Ossetia. 42 people were evacuated, 24 of them were children under 12 years old. The refugees were accommodated in the Victoria Hotel in Tskhinval.
