A new action group will be created in South Ossetia to prepare a referendum on joining the Russian Federation, it will include at least 20 people. This was stated to journalists on Tuesday by the head of the CEC of the Republic, Emilia Gagieva.
"Following the results of consultations with the Russian Federation, we have new work to do, with a new wording acceptable to the Russian Federation, this is most likely a new action group, which will consist of at least 20 people, in accordance with constitutional law," Gagiev said.
She has clarified that as soon as the CEC received the appropriate package of documents, the Commission is ready to start working.
Earlier on Monday, the head of the Presidential Executive Office, Alan Dzhioev, said that the holding of a referendum in the Republic of South Ossetia on the issue of joining the Russian Federation was setby ex-President Anatoly Bibilov without working with the Russian party, which violates the cooperation agreement between the Republic and the Russian Federation.
