On Sunday, the capital of South Ossetia, paid last tribute to a fighter Dzhioev Alan Dzhemalovich (call sign Ares), who had died a hero's death during the special military operation in Ukraine.
Alan Dzhioev was fighting as part of the volunteer forces, died on September 26, 2022 in the battles with Ukrainian neo-Nazis. The group, which included Alan, fell into the enemy ambush. The search for the fighter's body continued for several months.
Together with him was Tamerlan Ostaev, whose body was delivered to his native Tskhinval a month ago. Alan Dzhioev covered his comrades-in-arms with himself and died as a result of massive shelling on the car in which they were. The Dzhioev family received the DNA results only a couple of days ago.
A kind, fair, brave, fearless warrior, a faithful comrade and a caring son - this is how Alan will be remembered by everyone who knew him at least a little.
The leadership of the Republic headed by President Alan Gagloev, representatives of the Russian Embassy in South Ossetia, hundreds of Tskhinval residents, relatives of the deceased, came to to give the last honors to the fighter.
“When the special operation began, Alan, along with his friends, could not stand aside. They went to the war zone to other Ossetians. Someone flees from the battlefield, but Alan and his comrades went to the aid of civilians voluntarily. Unfortunately, he could not stay there for long. The fighter defending his friends died heroically. Even if Alan lived a short life, he left behind the name of a hero...,” said one of his comrades-in-arms.
By Presidential decree, Alan Dzhioev was awarded (posthumously) the Medal "Defender of the Fatherland". Alan was 26 years old; the fighter was given the last military honors.
