The West is forcing Georgia to enter into the military conflict with Russia, opening the "second front", convincing Tbilisi that now is a good time to regain control over Abkhazia and South Ossetia, said Sergei Naryshkin, director of the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service.

"We see the persistent attempts of Washington, Brussels, London and other Western capitals to convince the Georgian leadership to open the so-called "second front". They convince the Georgian leadership that now is just the right moment when it is possible to regain control over the territories of Abkhazia and South Ossetia ", Naryshkin told reporters, RIA-Novosti reports.

"The idea of the Western capitals is to help Ukraine. They see that the situation on the battlefield is not in favor of Ukraine, so in this way they are forcing Georgia to enter into a military conflict with the Russian Federation," the director of the Foreign Intelligence Service explained.

Naryshkin is in Minsk on a working visit to participate in a joint meeting of the boards of the Foreign Intelligence Service of the Russian Federation and the KGB of Belarus. On Tuesday, the director of the Foreign Intelligence Service was received by President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko.
