President of South Ossetia Alan Gagloev met with the head of the Presidential Executive Office of the Russian Federation for Interregional and Cultural Relations with Foreign Countries, Igor Maslov.
Maslov arrived in South Ossetia on a two-day working visit as part of the Russian delegation.
During the meeting, Gagloev thanked Maslov for his assistance in resolving problematic issues that related to the return of funds that had been sequestered and the abolition of export duties.
“It was very important for us,” Alan Gagloev said .
He has noted that important political events are coming this year - the Russian presidential elections, elections to the Parliament of South Ossetia, as well as the implementation of the Investment Program to promote socio-economic development of the Republic of South Ossetia.
The President has emphasized that South Ossetia is committed to constructive work and is ready to solve the problems facing the state.
For his part, Igor Maslov has admitted that he is always happy to come to South Ossetia. According to him, despite the fact that the current trip is quite short in time, nevertheless, the Russian delegation expects to discuss all the accumulated issues.
“We are in constant contact with the Russian Embassy, we are aware of all the tasks that are facing you. What you mentioned is probably just correcting technical shortcomings. Now the time is very dynamic, and therefore, when some global problems are being solved, some nuances are overlooked that should be taken into account in timely,” said Igor Maslov.
At the same time, he emphasized that in Moscow the government, the Presidential Executive Office. and personally the Supreme Commander-in-Chief has the most positive attitude towards the Republic.
He has noted that not everything is so simple in the Republic and the conditions are not ordinary, but the leadership is doing serious work.
“There are a lot of political events this year, so we decided not to delay and came at the beginning of the year to compare notes, make adjustments to our work if necessary, and move on. Our main task is to ensure the progressive, stable advancement of the Republic in terms of socio-economic development, security in this difficult time and internal political stability,” Igor Maslov said.
He has noted that, despite the short visit of Russian colleagues, they will use this time as productively as possible, including seeing how facilities are being built and some socio-economic projects are being implemented.
He has added that the presidential elections of the Russian Federation, which will also be held in the Republic, are a landmark event for South Ossetia, since the number of voters in the country is very large.
