President of South Ossetia Alan Gagloev presented state awards to Chairman of the Parliament of the Republic Alan Margiev and deputies of the VIII convocation, the press service of the head of state reports.
The award ceremony took place at the Presidential Executive Office of the Republic of South Ossetia and was timed to coincide with the 34th anniversary of the formation of the supreme legislative body of South Ossetia.
The head of state congratulated the deputy corps and all those involved in the significant date, and also thanked them for their fruitful work.
“The fateful events taken place in December thirty-four years ago will forever enter the history of the young Republic as the day of the establishment of parliamentarism and national sovereignty. By holding the first elections to the Supreme Council, the residents of our small homeland have taken the important step towards creating the independent state,” he said.
Alan Gagloev also noted the merits of the deputies of the first convocation.
“It is known that in the conditions of difficult historical realities, they laid the foundations of statehood, adopted basic legal acts that provided an opportunity for the further development of the republic,” the President has emphasized.
According to the head of state, “the legislative body continues its work, developing the laws aimed at improving the quality of life of citizens, ensuring sustainable development and strengthening the sovereignty of the Republic of South Ossetia.”
In turn, Alan Margiev expressed the words of gratitude to the head of state.
“We are convinced that the hopes placed on us will be justified. We will do everything possible for the bright future of the young state and its residents,” he has emphasized.
For their services in strengthening the statehood of the Republic and in connection with the Day of the formation of Parliament of the Republic of South Ossetia, the Chairman of the legislative body and the parliamentarians were awarded medals "In Commemoration of the 15th Anniversary of the Victory in the Patriotic War of the People of South Ossetia".
