A meeting was held in Vladikavkaz between the President of the Chess Federation of South Ossetia Georgy Shavlokhov and the International Grandmaster, World Champion, Senator of the Russian Federation Sergey Karyakin.
As reported to IA “Res” by Shavlokhov, during the meeting they discussed cooperation issues.
“We have agreed with Sergey Karyakin that we will interact with the Chess Federation of the Moscow Region and invite each other to joint events. We have also invited him to visit South Ossetia, and he accepted our invitation,” Shavlokhov has noted.
He has added that as part of the North Caucasus Federal District Championship, Karyakin held a simultaneous game session for children, in which a player from South Ossetia, Khasan Maldzigov, also participated.
"Of course, none of them won, but for the children it was the unforgettable experience, because they got the opportunity to play with the world champion," Shavlokhov said.
