During the operational and investigative activities carried out on Wednesday, the State Security Committee of South Ossetia identified another resident of Dzau district who had been regularly contacting representatives of the Georgian State Security Service and passed on to them the information that did not contain state secrets about the socio-political situation in the Republic of South Ossetia. This was reported by the press service of the department.
As noted by the department, this person was officially warned about the inadmissibility of actions that create conditions for committing a crime under Article 275 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (high treason).
“In the context of the analysis of the current situation, the number of residents of the Republic who are used by the Georgian special services to the detriment of the interests of South Ossetia and Russia is of concern. Considering that in October 2024, the state security agencies recorded a similar situation in Leningor district of the Republic of South Ossetia, the KGB is currently strengthening preventive and security measures primarily in Leningor district, as well as throughout the territory of South Ossetia,” the statement says.
The KGB draws attention to the fact that citizens of the Republic of South Ossetia who promptly reported to the security agencies their connections with representatives of foreign special services, structures and organizations, if their actions did not harm the security of the country, are exempt from criminal liability.

The KGB has warned that all contacts of citizens of the Republic of South Ossetia with representatives of foreign intelligence services are in the control zones and sectors of influence of the State Security Committee of the Republic of South Ossetia.
