Representative of Ministry of Foreign Affairs of South Ossetia in Italy Mauro Murgia took part in the event in memory of former member of the European Parliament Giulietto Chiesa, the press service of the Foreign Ministry reports.
"On April 27, a memorial evening was held in Rome at the Teatro Marconi, dedicated to the fifth anniversary of the death of the prominent Italian journalist, political and public figure Giulietto Chiesa, attended by his associates, like-minded people and friends," the press service has noted.
A letter on behalf of Minister of Foreign Affairs of South Ossetia Akhsar Dzhioev was read out by Mauro Murgia.
"Giulietto Chiesa was a great friend of South Ossetia, was well acquainted with the history and culture of Ossetia, always responded to the events taking place in the Republic, and did everything to ensure that the world knew the truth about the events in South Ossetia," the press service has noted.
