April 28, 1991 is a tragic date in the modern history of South Ossetia.
On this day, seven unarmed residents of the village of Tsinagar in Leningor district - Otar Margiev, Givi Bibilov, Slavik Chertkoev, Zaur Khubulov, Otar Khubulov, Tengiz Dudaev and Taimuraz Khubulov - were killed by the Georgian militants while defending their pastures from cattle rustling.
This crime became one of the first evidences of growing aggression of Georgia.
For 34 years, this wound has been bleeding in the hearts of residents of the Republic and the relatives of the victims.
Every year, residents of South Ossetia, from government officials to the younger generation, gather at the monument to the victims in Tsinagar. They honor the memory of the heroes who unarmed defended their land from the Georgian nationalists.
Their feat is the eternal example of courage and love for the Motherland.
From 1920 to 2008, people of South Ossetia experienced many tragedies, but some of them, such as the Tsinagar, Zar and Ered ones , were especially deeply etched in the people's memory as the acts of genocide.
