In February, 19 violators of the established legal regimes were detained at various sections of the state border of South Ossetia, the KGB press service reports.
“Eight violators of the state border regime and eleven of the border regime were detained.
For each fact of violation of legal regimes, the border service of the State Security Committee conducted investigations, as a result of which fourteen people were subject to the administrative fine, two were expelled from the Republic without penalties, two more violators were issued warnings, and administrative proceedings against one were terminated,” the press service has reported.
The Border Service reminded citizens and guests of the Republic, as well as tourist groups planning to visit the settlements located in the border zone, of the need to have identification documents with them: a passport, an official ID, a birth certificate (for minors), and for foreign citizens, in addition, a pass to the border zone.
“The Border Service draws the attention of the heads of the district and rural administrations to the fact that with the onset of the period of seasonal agricultural work in the areas located in the border zone, it is necessary to obtain the appropriate permits in advance,” the press service has noted.
To obtain them, citizens of the Republic of South Ossetia must send an application for a permit to the Border Service of the KGB of the Republic of South Ossetia (Tskhinval, Khetagurov St., Bldg. 1, tel. 45-43-43) at least three days before the start of the work, along with photocopies of their passports with a registration stamp.
"To obtain permission to carry out the works in the border zone, Russian citizens must submit a corresponding application to the KGB Border Service of South Ossetia with a photocopy of their passport with a mark on registration at the place of residence in the Russian Federation.
Citizens of other foreign countries must also submit documents confirming temporary registration at the place of residence in South Ossetia, photocopies of their migration cards, as well as permission to carry out labor activity on the territory of the Republic," the department has noted.
Foreign citizens planning to carry out works in the border zone must first obtain a pass for the right to be in it in the established manner.
"Intentional violation of the legal regimes established at the state border and border territory entails not only administrative, but in some cases also criminal liability.
All possible directions of penetration of violators of the state border of the Republic are in the control zones and sectors of influence of the border forces of South Ossetia," the statement of the press service reads.

“The KGB will consider all requests regarding threats to state security in all areas of life and guarantees confidentiality, as well as the security of the applicant,” the Committee said.
