Today the United Nations General Assembly has put to the vote the resolution initiated three years ago by the Georgian party- «About the position of internally displaced persons and refugees from Abkhazia and South Ossetia». Last year the United Nations General Assembly with the 50 voices pro and 17 voices contra has adopted the resolution initiated by the Georgian party. In contains anxiety "by violent change of the demographic situation as a result of the conflicts in Georgia". In this connection, a South-Ossetian expert Inal Pliev has declared the news agency "Res" that «in 1991-1992, after a genocide and ethnic cleansings of the Ossetian population living in the former Georgia and temporarily occupied part of the territory of South Ossetia by the army of the State Council of Georgia, the United Nations did not express its concern in regard to the «violent change of the demographic situation in Borzhomi, Bakuriani, Tbilisi, Gori, Gudzhareti, Kakheti, Kareli (Georgia) and South Ossetia, but even as a sign of special encouragement of ethnic cleansings of the Ossetians has included Georgia in its ranks». We should note that last year the General Assembly recognized "the right for returning of the all internally displaced persons and refugees and their descendants, irrespective of ethnic belonging, to their houses all over the territory of Georgia, including Abkhazia and South Ossetia".
