May 20, in South Ossetia are being held the mourning ceremonies in memory of the victims of the Zar tragedy in 1992, when the civilian refugees from Tskhinval, fleeing from the war zone through the bypass high-mountain road, were killed by the Georgian fascists. The armed group attacked a motorcade that was going to North Ossetia, on the road near the village of Zar and shot them by heavy fire. As a result of this terrible violence were killed 33 people - mostly women, children and old people. Dozens of people were injured.

May 21 in Sochi will be held a working meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and South Ossetian President Leonid Tibilov.

Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia David Sanakoev has paid an official visit to Sukhum, where he has taken part in the events to mark the 20th anniversary of the formation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia.
In the course of the visit, May 16, 2013 was held the meeting of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia David Sanakoev with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia Vyacheslav Chirikba. They discussed issues of bilateral cooperation and signed a plan of consultations for 2013.

Here were killed thirty three Ossetians. They spent here the last minutes of this world. Twenty-one years ago, on the Zar road, the road of life, there was a tragedy that has shocked everyone. May 20, 1992 the Georgian armed gangs shot the defenseless women, children and the old people, who had been leaving the besieged Tskhinval. In the nineties the confrontation between Georgia and South Ossetia reached its climax. The war forced those who could not protect their home, children or themselves to leave their homes. People were leaving their sons and husbands, brothers and fathers, who were defending their homeland.

May 20, 1992 I, with my brother and my friend, were standing on a railway crossing in Tskhinval, waiting for a bus. We wanted to reach the village of Java along the bypass Zar road. At about 9:00 am a truck drove up to the bus stop, covered with tent: the driver said he would take us to Java. About 25-30 people, including us, sat in the truck body and near the village of Zar the car fan belt broke off. We were forced to stop. A lot of cars were passing in the direction of Java. After some time, the driver started the engine and we moved on. In the truck were also sitting women, children and the old people.

May 20 in South Ossetia, will be commemorated the Day of Memory and Grief. Exactly 21 years ago, the Georgian neo-fascists on the bypass road Tskhinval-Zar-Dzau from ambush brutally shot dead 33 people, mostly women, old people and children – the civilians who had left their homes Tskhinval, being shelled constantly at that time. The youngest of the victims was 11 years old.

The Co-Chairs of the Geneva international discussions on security in Transcaucasia, along with members of the South Ossetian delegation at the Geneva talks, led by Presidential Envoy to South Ossetia Murat Dzhioev have visited Leningor district of South Ossetia. On arrival in Leningor the delegation met with the leadership of the district.

The final version of the Medium-term program for socio-economic development of South Ossetia to 2017 will be approved by the government in the near future.
This has been said by the Minister for Economic Development of the Republic Zalina Khugati in the interview with IA "Res." She noted that the draft program was fully prepared and adopted by the Government of the Republic with some comments and improvement.

At the end of May it is planned to arrange the meeting of relatives of the missing citizens of South Ossetia with the Prosecutor General of Georgia. This was declared by the OSCE co-chairman of the Geneva discussions on security in Transcaucasia Andriy Deshchitsa at the briefing in Tskhinval.
