President of South Ossetia Alan Gagloev awarded the Order of "Uatsamonga" to Vladimir Dzuzzati, an active participant in repelling the Georgian aggression in 1989-2008, the press service of the head of state reports.
"On November 23, 1989, he, being in the front rows of a group of young people, blocked the path of tens of thousands of the Georgian nationalists at the entrance to the capital of South Ossetia. By the time of the invasion of the Georgian informals into Tskhinval in January 1991, Vladimir Dzuzzati and his associates organized the armed detachment, which included more than 30 people," the press service has noted.
Vladimir Dzuzzati's detachment was taking the most active part in street battles.
