Fifteen years after the recognition of the independence of South Ossetia by the Russian Federation, the process of interaction is on the rise, President of South Ossetia Alan Gagloev said at the press conference in Tskhinval.

According to him, the Republic is moving from restoration to the level of closer economic cooperation.

"Mutual relations and trade turnover between our countries are increasing. In 2022, trade turnover between our countries increased by 12 percent," he said.

The Commission for the Delimitation and Demarcation of the State Border of South Ossetia with Georgia fulfilled its task of unilaterally defining the state border of the Republic of South Ossetia with Georgia. A serviceman from South Ossetia, Marat Dzhagaev, has been on the front lines since the beginning of Russia's special military operation in Ukraine, protecting civilians in the Donbass. He told the Res news agency that many guys from Ossetia were taking part in the special operation, showing heroism and solidarity.

“Many thanks to all the Ossetian people for their support and assistance to the fighters on the front line,” Dzhagaev said in a telephone conversation.

The Ered tragedy is one of the many evidences of the policy of genocide that the Georgian leadership had been pursuing against the Ossetian people for a whole century, South Ossetian Foreign Ministry comments.

The Ministry noted that "this bloody and inhumane event, which took place 32 years ago, still shocks with its special cruelty and cynicism, remaining the open wound in the historical memory of the people."
