A rally in memory of the victims of the Ered tragedy took place on Saturday at the mass grave in the capital's cemetery in South Ossetia.

The rally was attended by representatives of the leadership of South Ossetia, ministries and departments, relatives of the victims of the tragedy, and members of the public.

Opening the rally, director of the National Museum of South Ossetia Merab Zasseev has noted that March 18, 1991 entered the modern history of Ossetia as a bleeding wound inflicted by the Georgian neo-fascists.

The interstate agreement on alliance and integration between South Ossetia and Russia unites the security spaces of the two countries; therefore armed aggression against the Republic of South Ossetia is tantamount to aggression against the Russian Federation itself. Konstantin Kochiev, State Adviser to President of South Ossetia, stated this in a comment to IA “Res” on the next anniversary of the signing of the bilateral agreement.

He has noted that any attempts by Georgia and its Western partners to isolate South Ossetia are pointless.

On Friday in Moscow, President of South Ossetia Alan Gagloev met with Deputy Head of the Presidential Executive Office of the Russian Federation Dmitry Kozak, the press service of the head of the South Ossetian state reports.

Ambassador of South Ossetia to Russia Znaur Gassiev met with Deputy Chairman of the Legislative Assembly of the Vladimir Region, Director of the Vladimir Branch of the RANEPA Vyacheslav Kartukhin, the press service of the Embassy reports.

“The areas of cooperation between South Ossetia and the Vladimir region were discussed. A detailed conversation took place, prospects for interaction in the field of education, culture, youth policy, as well as interaction with the legislative assembly of the region were outlined,” the Ministry said in the statement.

The meeting of Presidents of South Ossetia and Russia Alan Gagloev and Vladimir Putin demonstrated readiness to further expand and strengthen friendly, partnership relations between the two countries, deepen integration processes, trade and economic cooperation, prime Minister said in a comment published on the official website of the Cabinet of Ministers.

President of South Ossetia Alan Gagloev, at the meeting with Russian leader Vladimir Putin, has said that in the most difficult times, Russia was next to South Ossetia.

In February, it was reported that Gagloev arrived on a working visit to Moscow, where he was diagnosed with a coronavirus infection. President of the Republic of South Ossetia went into quarantine and underwent treatment in Moscow. It was reported that on March 1, he recovered from coronavirus.

President of South Ossetia Alan Gagloev, at the meeting with Russian leader Vladimir Putin, said that the Republic, more than ever, should coordinate actions with the Russian Federation in the current situation.

"We see what complex geopolitical processes are taking place today, therefore, more than ever, we must coordinate our actions within the framework of a common security contour," Gagloev said.

President of South Ossetia Alan Gagloev expressed gratitude to his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin for his decision to support the gasification project for the entire Republic.

This will be a real breakthrough in the development of our economy. We will be able to stop the outflow of the rural population and preserve our villages, give a new impetus to the development of agriculture. This will be of great help in attracting investors to South Ossetia,” Gagloev said during the meeting with the Russian President in the Kremlin.
