In South Ossetia, a memorial event was dedicated to the fallen internationalist soldiers

A memorial event dedicated to the 36th anniversary of the withdrawal of the Soviet troops from Afghanistan was held at the monument to the internationalist soldiers in Tskhinval on Saturday.

The event was attended by the leadership of the Republic, headed by President Alan Gagloev, Russian Ambassador to South Ossetia Marat Kulakhmetov, veterans of the war in Afghanistan, representatives of the Russian 4th military base, commander of the Sarmat battalion Vladimir Naniev and fighters of the Alania battalion, students of the educational institutions, and the public.

The issue of incidents on the border can be resolved by full-scale work on delimitation of the border with Georgia - Kochiev

Since the previous meeting within the framework of the Incident Prevention and Response Mechanisms (IPRM), the situation on the border of South Ossetia with Georgia has remained quite calm, the head of the South Ossetian delegation Yegor Kochiev told journalists following the meeting in the IPRM format.

The first meeting of the parties this year took place in the village of Ergnet - on the border of South Ossetia with Georgia.

Interaction between Tskhinval and Caracas was discussed in Moscow

Issues of interaction between South Ossetia and Venezuela were discussed by the Ambassadors of the two countries to the Russian Federation Znaur Gassiev and Jesus Rafael Salazar Velasquez, the press service of the South Ossetian Embassy reports.

South Ossetia and Georgia are discussing the border security issues

The first meeting of the year in the IPRM format is taking place on the border of South Ossetia and Georgia.

The main issue that the South Ossetian party has been raising for several years is the removal of the illegal Georgian police post set up on the territory of South Ossetia at the end of August 2019.

First Deputy Prime Minister Alan Dzhioev received the envoy of the International Committee of the Red Cross on missing persons in the Caucasus, Agnes Kotu, and the head of the ICRC office in the Republic, Said Assadullah.

The KGB of South Ossetia has provided statistics on state border violations in January

In January, 24 violators of border legislation were detained at various sections of the state border of South Ossetia, including 10 violators of the state border regime and 14 of the border regime. This was reported by the press service of the State Security Committee of the Republic.

As noted by the department, the KGB Border Service conducted investigations into each violation of legal regimes.

“As a result, 21 violators were subject to administrative fines, and three were given official warnings,” the Committee has clarified.

On behalf of President Alan Gagloev, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia sent the official note to Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation on the exclusion of South Ossetia from the list of countries, the citizens of which will be subject to the provisions of the RF Government Resolution No. 1510 "On conducting an experiment to test the rules and conditions for entry into the Russian Federation and exit from the Russian Federation of foreign citizens and stateless persons."
