Felix Gagiev, beaten by the Georgian police, has died not having regained consciousness

Today morning Felix Gagiev has died at the resuscitation unit of the Republican somatic hospital. The 27-years old inhabitant of an ossetian village Dzagina of Znaur region of RSO Felix Gagiev, passing through the georgian-populated village Avnevi, controllable by the divisions of the Georgian power structures, has been stopped at the post of the Georgian police and brutally beaten.

The 27-years old inhabitant of an ossetian village Dzagina of Znaur region of RSO Felix Gagiev has been brutally beaten in the georgian-populated village Avnevi. As the correspondent of the agency " Res " has been informed at the resuscitation unit of the Republican somatic hospital, the condition of Gagiev is estimated as extremely grave, he has serious head injuries and practically of all the vital organs.

The Government of Georgia has undertook another step contradicting to the process of the Georgian-Ossetian conflict settlement by creation of so called “commission for definition of the autonomous status of South Ossetia within Georgia”.

Boris Chochiev: «The peacemakers will remain in South Ossetia before the full settlement of the georgian-ossetian conflict»

«The peacemakers today are the basic guarantor of peace in the zone the conflict ». The co-chairman of JCC from South Ossetia Boris Chochiev has declared that to the journalists on completion of the tripartite advisory meeting of the co-chairmen of JCC.
«It is necessary to be guided by the existing arrangements, according to which the joint peacekeeping forces will remain in the region before the final settlement of the georgian-ossetian conflict. Here when the world community recognizes the independence of the Republic of South Ossetia, then we will solemnly see the peacemakers off. But for the present they will remain here», Boris Chochiev has told.

The joint statement of the heads of the South-Ossetian, the Russian and the North-Ossetian parts of JCC

On July, 13th, 2007 in Tskhinval took place the working meeting of the co-chairmen of JCC from the South-Ossetian, the Russian and the North-Ossetian parties. The participants of the meeting have estimated the situation in the zone of the georgian-ossetian conflict as tending to further aggravation, have discussed the possible ways of settlement of the accumulated problems, leading to aggravation of intensity in the region. The parties have expressed deep concern about the proceeding slipping of the negotiating process on the background of placing illegal posts of the power structures, construction of fortifications and the other actions of the Georgian side, leading to aggravation of the armed opposition.

The advisory meeting of the co-chairmen of JCC takes place in Tskhinval

The tripartite advisory meeting of the co-chairmen of the Joint Control Commission (JCC) on settlement of the georgian-ossetian conflict from Russia, the Republic of North Ossetia-Аlania and the Republic of South Ossetia takes place in Tskhinval. During the meeting it is planned to discuss the situation that has developed in the zone of the georgian-ossetian conflict.

The Russian journalists are in Tbilisi

Under the specified information, the journalists of the TV channel "Russia" have been detained today at 11:40am by the employees of the Kurta department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia while preparation of a material about the activity of JPKF. The absence of Georgian visas by the journalists has served as an official occasion for detention. However, the journalists worked in the zone of the conflict at presence of the representatives of the press-service of JPKF and according to the legal regulations of work of a journalist in the zone of the conflict. As they have informed at the press-service of JPKF, there was an arrangement on shooting with the Georgian observers of the peace-making battalion. The Georgian side has undertaken a false arrest of the Russian journalists Andrey Chistjakov and Igor Sturita.
