On March, 4th, 2007 in the Republic of Abkhazia took place the elections of the deputies of the National Assembly, the Parliament of the Republic of Abkhazia.
The elections have been held according to the Constitution of the Republic of Abkhazia and the electoral legislation of the Republic of Abkhazia on an alternative basis and with the observance of democratic principles.
In opinion of the international observers, present at the elections, among which there also were the representatives of South Ossetia Republic, the elections have passed in a full conformity with international norms. All conditions have been created in the Republic for carrying out of transparent, fair democratic elections.
They are confident in South Ossetia Republic, that the results of the held elections of the deputies of the National Assembly, the Parliament of the Republic of Abkhazia are the one more important evidence of a democratic development of the statehood of the Republic of Abkhazia and the expression of the free political will of the people of Abkhazia.
