TV Channel «Russia Today» opens an office in South Ossetia to be based in the capital of SO - Tskhinval.
Naida Aziziva, «RT» correspondent told the IA RES about the future work.
"Our Channel has been closely watching all events in South Ossetia during the August aggression and all our information was transmitted at first hand. Now, after the war and after the declaration of the Republic"s independence, we are opening our office here primarily to cover all events in the Republic. We would like to know how the conflict had influenced the lives of inhabitants, how they cope with the consequences and how the young Republic is developing."
She added that the "work will not be limited to one particular region. We will cover the events taking place in republics of North Caucasus".
During the Georgian aggression in August 2008, «Russia Today» was the only English-language news channel transmitting the information from the spot. Correspondents and cameramen of the «RT» were constantly in Tskhinval.
It is worth mentioning that this is the first TV channel (Russian and international) opening its office in the Republic.
