Psychologists from the Republican Center for Medical and Social Assistance of North Ossetia-Alania are providing psychological assistance to residents of South Ossetia. The psychologists are working in South Ossetia upon the invitation from the Foundation “Goryanka”, reported a representative of the Center, psychologist Umar Khugaev.
”We are having many visitors with problems related to consequences of the Georgian aggression. Depending on the problem, which a client comes with, we elaborate an individual methodology”, says Khugaev.
The center has not only psychologist, but also psychiatrists and juvenile psychologist Natasha Portnova. According to her, the war has left irreversible traces in children’s psyche. “We have good conditions for our work with clients, in the course of communication they start feeling confident with a psychologist, and in a secure environment (we ensure anonymousness) they tell about their problems. We will continue working in South Ossetia till the end of the year”, added Khugaev.
This Center’s psychologists contributed to psychological assistance provided to people in various terrorist acts, to residents of Beslan, and are very well-qualified and experienced specialists.
