Russian Ambassador to South Ossetia Marat Kulakhmetov presented jubilee medals "80 Years of Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945" to three veterans - home front workers, the press service of the Russian Embassy in the Republic of South Ossetia reports.

"Ilya Arsenovich Khugaev, Zamira Aleksandrovna Gagloeva, and Boris Georgievich Dzhioev received the medals from the Ambassador's hands," the press service has noted.

Earlier, the awards were presented to three more veterans.

"These medals were established by the decree of President of the Russian Federation dated September 2, 2024," the press service noted.

It has been added that awarding veterans is important and pleasant mission of the Embassy, ​​which has become a good tradition in the run-up to the celebration of the anniversary dates of the Victory.

“Over the past five years, unfortunately, many worthy representatives of the Republic have passed away. These days, we are remembering them with warmth and thank them for their contribution to the common Great Victory,” the Embassy has noted.
