The 17th round of the discussions has come to the end in Geneva. As informed by the Plenipotentiary of the President of South Ossetia on questions of the post conflict settlement Boris Chochiev over the phone from Geneva, the situation in the regions have been discussed during the first part of the discussions.«We have declared that the Georgian party regularly violates the air space of our country.
Meanwhile, the European Union observers carry out illegal actions - monitoring from Georgia. According to their mandates they should carry out monitoring in the territory adjoining to the frontier, and it turns out that they go beyond the mandates and they have been informed about it», - Chochiev has told.ThePlenipotentiary has noted that the Georgian delegation still displays unconstructive and superficial approach.«The main objective for the participants here, in particular for the USA, is to avoid the basic point of the discussion - non-use of force», - Chochiev has underlined.According to the Plenipotentiary the co-chairmen of the Geneva discussions have offered the project - «Five steps towards the intermediate mode of safety».«The South Ossetian party has subjected this document to the sharp criticism and named it the American project developed in Georgia. We have declared that it is not even negotiable. It does not describe at all the real situation and our main aim. This project does not reflect the interests of South Ossetia, Abkhazia and Russia», - Chochiev has declared.He has also told that as the chairman of the commission on delimitation of the state borders of South Ossetia and Georgia, he has addressed to the Georgian party with the next offer.«We have declared that our border will not be eternally opened (we mean the temporary check points at the border). We just take into consideration the interests of people, who became the victims of the Georgian aggression and the adventurist policy. They are outside South Ossetia. We don`t want to make troubles for them, for this reason the border and the crossing points, according to the governmental resolution of South Ossetia, are still opened. We have the following offer - to start delimitation of the state border between our countries (South Ossetia and Georgia). We`d like to advise the Georgian party - to start creating the similar commission», - the Plenipotentiary has noted.According to Chochiev, the Russian side has expressed readiness together with the USA and the European Union to advocate a peace guarantor of between the three states: South Ossetia, Georgia and Abkhazia.
«The Georgian party again has negatively apprehended this initiative of the Russian side», - he has underlined.«We have declared that representatives of the Saakashvili regime and some participants of the Geneva discussions pursue today nonpeaceful aims. Use of force in settling the Georgian-Ossetian and the Georgian-Abkhazian mutual relations is a priority for them. The Saakashvili regime does not take into account the peace initiatives», - Chochiev has underlined.In conclusion the Plenipotentiary has told that the South Ossetian delegation again has expressed its readiness to continue working on mutual transferring of prisoners, but the Georgian party again has not supported this offer.Thenext round of the Geneva discussions is planned for December, 2011.
