The visit of the delegation of South Ossetia headed, by Deputy Speaker of the Parliament of South Ossetia Mira Tskhovrebova to the Hungarian city of Yasbereny, is going ahead.
A meeting with the Mayor of Yasbereny Dr. Tamas Szabo has also taken place. The Mayor welcomed the guests warmly. Mira Tskhovrebova sent him the regards from the Speaker of Parliament of South Ossetia Stanislav Kochiev. During the conversation, which was being held in the presence of representatives of the city of Yasbereny parliament and the media, the head of the delegation told about South Ossetia, its culture and contemporary political history of South Ossetia. The main topic of the discussion was the prospects of mutual cooperation.
"The Ossetians know and remember about the genetic relationship with the Jassic people and value this relationship. Seven centuries ago, some part of the ethnic Alans migrated westward and settled on the banks of the Danube under the name of Jassic people. As members of one family, who were scattered around the world by history, today we can shake our hands in order to restore the unity, lost not of our own will. These meetings will consolidate our people and will contribute to further development of our common ethnic culture. They are able to breathe new life into our relationship, "- underlined Mira Tskhovrebova.
Tamas Szabo expressed willingness to establish cultural relations between Tskhinval and Yasbereny. In particular, he emphasized the suitability of participation of the artistic groups of South Ossetia in the international festival held in Yasbereny annually.
It was also held a very interesting and fruitful meeting with the Hungarian researcher of history of the Jassic people and the Alans ancient written language Attila Korichansky, who, as one of the many Hungarian researchers and enthusiasts devoted himself to studying the history of his people.
The Hungarian journalist and social activist Ferenc Farkas at the meeting with the South Ossetian delegation brought the materials of "Via Alaniki" issued 1993. He noted the need for the development of bilateral ties and shared his memories of the mentioned scientific expedition and conveyed the best wishes to the Ossetian outstanding scientist, Doctor of History, Professor Yuri Gagloity, whom he had met in 1993.
On the same day the delegation of South Ossetia gave an interview to a number of media in Hungary. Members of the press were interested in issues of history and culture of South Ossetia, the history of the Georgian-Ossetian conflict and the circumstances of attaining the independence.
Yasbereny have repeatedly been visited by the scientists and public figures of North Ossetia. With the arrival of our delegation Yasbereny has discovered another part of Ossetia - the independent, recognized state of the Republic of South Ossetia.
The delegation of South Ossetia has arrived in Hungary at the invitation of the Mayor of Yasbereny Dr. Tamas Szabo.
