On the eve of the fourth anniversary of the recognition of South Ossetia, the Georgian pro-governmental media has published articles with justification of the military actions unleashed by Georgia in August 2008.
They did not evade the former adviser to President Vladimir Putin - Andrei Illarionov, who has devoted now his life to the struggle against Russia.
"Just four years ago, jointly with our colleagues, we fixed this date - December 1, 2007. A few days ago, this film, and Putin himself confirmed that, indeed, such a plan had been developed by the General Staff, the date of attacking Georgia was fixed 2007, "- he has plaid the oracle in the article "Illarionov: Order of the intervention in Georgia was given August4 - 5 ."
And further: "The Minister of Internal Affairs of the so-called South Ossetian Republic, Mr. Mindzayev August 5 ordered to destruct two Georgian villages - Avnevi and Nuli. August 6, these two villages were destroyed by the artillery fire of the Ossetian units and tanks. There started hysterical campaign on the South Ossetian air, calling upon to destroy the Georgian villages in the enclave, north to Tskhinval, just as happened with the Georgian villages in Abkhazia, where more than 10,000 people had been taken hostage and killed. "
That is, if our opponents have argued previously that the Georgian villages north to Tskhinval occupied by the armed formations and the two outposts of the occupants in Znaur district were destroyed after the war in 2008, here, Illarionov has said that they were destroyed before the war to provoke a Georgian invasion of South Ossetia.
Indeed, when God wants to punish a man, he deprives him of mind. Our opponents cannot even clearly say what happened to these villages, out of which as early as 1990-1991 by executions and tortures were expelled the residents who were not the ethnic Georgians. The illarionovs and the latynins keep shameful silent about this fact. Now they say after, and now they say before. And they do not dare to tell the truth, because they were destroyed during the war. These villages could have not been destructed if an overconfident Saakashvili had not given command for launching the full-scale military action against South Ossetia.
The fact that Georgia started the war has openly been declared by the Georgian general Kurashvili, the Georgian diplomat Kitsmarashvili, former Georgian President Eduard Shevardnadze. It is clearly stated in the report of the special commission of the European Union. What more are itching to do the illarionovs and the latynins?
Georgia is actively preparing for the election campaign. Both the authorities and the opposition are holding the preparations - as they can. However, the special ingenuity has not yet been shown by any party. The authorities are focusing on their business projects, and the opposition - on violation of the election laws by the authorities.
Georgian news agency "Pirveli" published an article entitled "Interior Minister has visited today construction of a new highway in Shida Kartli," and the article "Signagi organization of the party" Free Georgia" has accused the local government of bribing voters."
However, the fight is expected to be hard, accustomed to hold complete control over the material and human resources of Georgia, the team of the incumbent president is not ready to give up their warmed armchairs without a fight. These chairs are also captivating for the other groups in Georgia, which possess large financial resources but do not have state authority.
Against this background, the Georgian officials do voice skepticism about the fate of the pipeline "Nabucco", which is being deliberately constructed to bypass Russia, first, to deprive it of its revenue from the transportation of natural gas, and secondly, to show that in economic matters one can do without it.
Thus, in an interview with the Ukrainian newspaper "Mirror of the week" the Georgian Foreign Minister Grigol Vashadze said: "The Nabucco project is of fundamental importance. But it is not known whether the project will take place at all, as everyone says, "Yes, yes, Nabucco will be constructed" – but its implementation is postponed from year to year. "
The Georgian government considers that the transit of Caspian liquefied gas through the Black Sea will be much cheaper than constructing a gas pipeline Nabucco.
This anti-Russian project has serious problems itself. Consortium on construction a pipeline "Nabucco", which will connect Central Asia through the Caucasus with the EU, demanded that countries - gas producers should provide up to the end of March "specific commitments" about the future energy supplies. This was reported by the British newspaper "Financial Times". It is said in the article that without such guarantees on access to fuel the "Nabucco" risks remaining on the paper.
The consortium, which includes companies from Austria, Bulgaria, Germany, Hungary, Romania and Turkey, aims to start in the second half of this year the construction of highway stretched for 3.3 thousand km from Central Asia to the EU, bypassing Russia. The project cost is estimated at USD 10.7 billion
However, until now the project initiators failed to conclude contracts in order to fill the "Nabucco" gas. According to the publication, to date, only Azerbaijan promised to provide 16 billion cubic meters of gas per annum, of which 6,000,000,000 are for Turkey and the EU will not get it. In this case, the designed capacity of "Nabucco" is 31 billion cubic meters of gas per year. This writes the Georgian site "Nabukko.ge." That is, that so widely publicized pipe, in fact, is filled by nothing.
Another project is competing with the "Nabucco" - AGRI (Azerbaijan-Georgia-Romania Interconnector), which is also providing for the delivery of gas from the Caspian region, bypassing Russia. Political declaration on its establishment was signed by the presidents of Azerbaijan, Georgia, Romania, and Hungary's prime minister in September 2011. The project is aimed to provide an alternative route for Russian delivery of Azerbaijani gas to Europe. It is supposed that the "blue fuel" will be transported from Azerbaijan to the Black Sea coast of Georgia, where the gas will be liquefied and by tankers will be delivered to the Romanian port of Constanta. Then the fuel will be "returned" to a gaseous state, and it will be delivered from Romania to Hungary and finally, to the Western Europe.
It should be reminded that, according to the same site, Nabucco is a projectible 3.3 thousand kilometers range trunk gas pipeline, which, bypassing Russia will be delivered from Central Asia to the EU, particularly to Austria and Germany. Its rated capacity will be 26-32 billion cubic meters of gas per annum. Nabucco project participants are companies OMV Gas GmbH (Austria), Botas (Turkey), Bulgargaz (Bulgaria), SNTGN Transgaz S.A. (Romania), MOL Natural Gas Transmission Company Ltd. (Hungary), RWE (Germany). Each of participants has equal share - 16.67%. According to the initial Nabucco pipeline project, introduced in 2004, the gas should have been delivered from Iran in the Persian Gulf. In 2006, in connection with the conflict over Iran's nuclear program, it was decided to change the project as to be able to deliver gas from Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan.
