The mission of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in South Ossetia is carrying out works on the reconstruction of water mains in the villages of Mugut and Didmukha in Znaur district of South Ossetia.
As reported to IA "Res" by a spokesperson of the ICRC Marina Tedeti, the dilapidated water supply system in these settlements had not been functioning for a long period of time. Therefore the residents of these villages experienced considerable inconvenience, as they had to carry water from afar. Local authorities have asked us to assist them in solving this problem, "- said Tedety.
According to her, the ICRC management adopted a decision to repair the water supply system in these villages.
"Four and a half kilometers from Mugut there is a spring, which has previously supplied these settlements. With the assistance of Mission of the International Committee of the Red Cross was repaired the existing reservoir and were laid the new water pipes from the spring to these villages – continued Tedeti. – In the villages Mugut and Didmukha was set the distribution pipework. Within a week the reconstruction of the water mains will be completed fully. "
The spokesperson has explained that the population of about 400 people is already exploiting the repaired water supply system.
